FAQS

Do you accept insurance?

At Aidia, we contract with select carriers for spine, sports and pain problems and all other insurance plans are considered out of network care.

Is insurance accepted for Integrative Medicine Consultations?

To provide the extended quality of care you deserve, we do not bill insurance plans directly for integrative medicine services.  A bill will be provided at the time of service for filing your claim.  Necessary radiographs and routine lab work often is covered by your insurance plan.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

Medicare is accepted for traditional specialist care for isolated problems.  If an Integrative Medicine evaluation is requested, Medicare cannot be billed for these services and a specific form is signed to acknowledge this agreement.  We do not accept Medicaid at this time.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We will also accept HSA and FSA account cards (issued by Visa, MC, DSC or AMX) as forms of payment.

Is a referral needed?

No referrals needed for Integrative Medicine services.  However, referrals may be necessary for individual insurance plans.

What is the cancellation policy?

Due to the length of our evaluations, it is necessary to require 24-hour notice for cancellation without a fee.  Appointments cannot be rescheduled until this fee is paid.  Advanced notice of 3 days is required for extended appointments.

After hours care?

Non-emergent questions or concerns, please dial the primary office number, and a message can be left with the answering service when the office is closed.  Dr. Shriner will return your call as soon as possible.  If this is an emergency, immediately call 911.

Can I email Dr. Shriner?

We recommend that you send a secure message through your patient portal.  Emails/messages for simple, straightforward questions requiring a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ reply, there will be no charge.  However, emails/messages that need changes to your existing plan, new prescriptions or complex decision making – there will be a charge of $35.

Messages will be answered within 24 to 72 hours.  Questions that require immediate attention, please contact your primary care physician or go to the nearest emergency room.

Medication Policies

All medication renewals must be requested three days before needing your medications.  For narcotic refills, please refer to the Narcotic Prescription Regulations and Policy provided to you upon initiation of care.

Can I be a patient if I live out of town?

Yes, the initial new patient evaluation is required to be in person, but additional follow-up care can be done by video or telephone conferencing.

Will you be my Primary Care Physician?

As a specialist, Dr. Shriner only provides consultative care.  You are still expected to maintain your relationship with your primary care doctor.   Coordination of treatment with your primary care physician and other specialist is an essential and standard policy in our clinic.

What is the youngest age you treat?

Thirteen is the youngest patient we can see.  If a sports-related injury and younger, cases can be evaluated individually and exceptions made.
